‘Can-Go’ aims to find a sustainable solution to the environmental problems caused by used plastic beverage bottles.
A refilling system, inspired by the concept of a service station where customers just refill the tank without purchasing the containers, is composed by two sub-systems – refilling machines and reusable containers.
The idea is to combine selling beverages and reusing containers together in the machine and separate the functions of holding and supporting beverages apart from the container. The separation reduces the volume / weight of beverage container that users need to carry before / after drinking. People can leave the heavy supporting part to be recycled in public and reuse the inner container personally.
The container includes two main parts: a beverage bag which holds the drink; a public outer frame for support, protection and standing the container. The bag is durable and sold at a considerable price so that wouldn’t be disposed frequently. The outer part is strong enough to stand machine operating and shock during repeated assembly and delivery.
By adopting the concept, no part of the container is one-off designed. The bag could be very thin to save materials. The outer frame, which uses most material, could be used forever in theory. |
