    Rationale

In this project I experimented with existing Construction Scaffolding materials in order to generate an outdoor garden space. Bamboo lattices, canvas covers and recycled wood shelf boards as well as plant pots (not provided) generate a sense of warmth. The spiral pot plant holder is modelled on existing stair case designs, but can be rotated to follow the sun. The aim was to use easily available and affordable materials to encourage renovators of existing multi-dwellings to take a creative approach in tackling new Basic (water saving) regulations. The end design allows each flat to have access to their own worm farm (outside the kitchen window), rain water tanks (held up by weight bearing trusses), and added external gardening spaces.
