Depression has become a serious issue in today’s society and it is important for individuals to be aware of this increasing trend towards this norm. People suffering form depression, especially adolescent age are increasing being de-motivated. This chair is designed for contemplating issues- this chair is for people to sit on, think, and to sort things out. The way to express this idea in my chair was using the compilation of stacked origami pieces to create the form of the chair. Using origami creates a sense of ‘Zen like’ quality, creating a soothing, harmonious element to calm the sense of the user. The chair is made out of ‘Sun long’ rice bags, cardboard boxes and a second hand outdoor folding chair. It is absolutely created 100% unwanted materials and does not use any adhesives. The Contemplation Origami Chair is very environmentally friendly. |
