| Rationale | ||||||
The 'Fridge' is an attempt to deal with the issue of large disregarded products. Products such as white goods, household electrical equipment, sound systems and computers are replaced frequently for reasons like excessive use of electricity, malfunction or becoming outdated. I find that these objects, because of their age, have been created with a more interesting sculptural form and hold a connection through memory that doesn't exist in recent replacement products. So it is my intention to accentuate the objects form by changing its function, making it useful once again without the issues of the original function coming into play. |
